Sample delicious food, including cakes & desserts from Mark & Bea at Turton Catering.

Mark: “…I have been a chef for over 35 years, starting my career with the Roux Brothers as a Chef de Partie at Le Gavroche and, for 5 years as Head Chef of their outside catering company, the Roux Fine Dining. Alongside Albert and Michel Roux Jnr, we catered for prestigious banquets including guests such as Prince Charles and Princess Diana.  Later, I moved to Wales as Head Chef at The Crown@Whitebrook, Monmouth for 8 years, followed by a further 8 years as Executive Head Chef at The Angel Hotel in Abergavenny.  Bea and I also spent 3 years in Budapest, where we catered for private events, including one for the movie star Eva Longoria while she stayed in the capital…”

Bea: “…My passion for baking started when I was a little girl, helping my mum, who was an excellent baker. I only realized later how amazing she was. We always had homemade tarts, macarons, Iles Flottants, Gerbeaud cakes, doughnuts, and many more sweet treats on our dining table for dessert. Her birthday cakes tasted heavenly. After my first child was born, I decided to make his first birthday cake. As our family grew, I ended up making cakes for them and other members of the family, and friends. Then I started baking cupcakes, iced gingerbread biscuits for school fairs and the orders just kept coming. So, I decided to set up my cake business and enrolled in a patisserie course. I really enjoy baking and decorating cakes and it gives me so much pleasure to see happy smiley faces :). I’m very fortunate to say that I love my job…”

Mark adds:

“…Our ethos is to use seasonal ingredients which are traceable, ethical and from a sustainable source. As far as possible we work with local suppliers to guarantee provenance, which in turn gives us confidence that what we put on your plate is the best available.

We love our work and will do all we can to make your occasion an enjoyable and memorable one…”

Wild and romantic flowers by Kristen at Queen of the Meadow

Hi, I’m Kirsten and I run Queen of the Meadow. I set up my floristry business to offer natural, garden-inspired and slightly wild-looking flowers!

Sustainability is at the heart of my business so I try and use as many Welsh grown flowers as possible. I grow flowers from my cutting garden and source others from local growers. I do not use floral foam and I make every effort to source local and organic materials.

I love to create meadow-like flowers and arrangements that are romantic and wild, using only the best quality flowers and foliage.

Laid Back Wedding Photography with Michelle Huggleston

If you’re looking for South Wales, Bristol, and Cardiff wedding photography, then you’re in the right place. I’m Michelle, a Cardiff wedding photographer working with laid-back, camera-shy couples who LOVE to have fun on their wedding day. I like to describe my wedding photography as colourful, fun and a little bit quirky.

I have always been creative, I loved art as a teenager. When it came to choosing subjects at college, I simply stumbled above photography. Sounds bizarre I know! But that’s how it happened. My friend chose photography and I thought that sounded interesting. But of course we ended up in completely different classes. One lesson in the darkroom and I was hooked. I fell head over heels in love with photography, so much that I studied it at university and graduated with a First Class BA (hons) degree.

I’ve been shooting non stop ever since, always learning and always creating. So before I got here, I assisted some photographers in gaining experience, while also working full time. I’ve also worked in a camera shop developing film, a clothing boutique and even a cinema. The cinema and movies still really influence my work and I particularly loved working as a Cinema Projectionist, handling films, putting them onto reels and lacing up the film. One of my favourite feel-good films being Housesitter starring Goldie Hawn and Steve Martin (there’s a fun fact for you!)

Decor and Table settings From Claire at Oh So Curious.

Hi, my name is Claire, I’m a creative, self-confessed collector (ok, hoarder!) of anything vintage with a story, second hand or a little bit unusual.

In September 2016 I married my lovely husband Rich, in a beautiful rustic barn in the Brecon Beacons. We had a clear vision for a day that was a little different; reflecting us and all the things we loved, so I began sketching, designing, and scouring charity shops and flea markets, for unusual objects and inspiration to bring my ideas to life. It was here that the collecting escalated (!) and where you can see that I was drawn to objects that are filled with nostalgia and charm.

The idea for Oh So Curious was born – I knew I wanted to share my collection and relaxed style with other couples looking for something similar. My small business is growing in my little studio at home in Bridgend where I live with Rich and our little boy Rory. I am constantly inspired by a new and fresh outlook towards weddings, which reflects who the couple is and what they love, over what tradition says.

Design and creativity have always been a huge part of my life.

I think I have now found the perfect balance between a career I love, and a small business which is very much a passion and personal creative outlet. That’s why you’ll find I am equally as passionate about your wedding – this isn’t a job for me, I really love what I do and that’s why I am here.

So if you’re planning a wedding/event and think my style suits you and your day, do get in touch, I’d love to meet you.

Dried & Preserved Flower Florist from Tina at Forever Green Blooms

I’m Tina and I’m the owner, founder, and creator of Forever Green Blooms.

Based in Bridgend, South Wales, Forever Green Blooms was born out of a lockdown project while furloughed from a 20-year career in fashion, which was looking increasingly unlikely to restart where it left off. I wanted an outlet for my creativity whilst keeping my mind busy and giving me some purpose. I also really wanted to grab the opportunity to start doing something I loved…flowers and sustainability being two of them!

What started there, on a Saturday morning in summer 2020, is something I’m proud to have grown from an Instagram account into my, now, full-time job and passion for dried and preserved flowers.

I hope you love my designs as much as I love making them. My heart dances every time I get to spread a little joy sending your blooms out…I really hope they make you happy when you receive or send them.

Beautiful Floral Cakes By Zoe from The Ginger Bear Bakery.

Two hearts – One celebration- Romantic, Inclusive Celebrant Ceremonies with Elizabeth- Anne.

I’m Elizabeth-Anne, an independent celebrant based in beautiful South Wales. I am a middle-aged queer mum of four kids. and I love life!
I laugh a lot, I do break the rules and if there are puddles I will jump in them, but I’m also a highly trained professional which means you are in safe hands!

My Guiding principles as a celebrant are to provide all couples and families the day they dream of. To have fun throughout the planning process culminating in a beautiful, exciting and romantic ceremony. I work with you, getting to know you, walking by your sides throughout the journey, so we can breathe life, fun and personality into your ceremony. I don’t take any one group of individuals and treat them differently. All of my couples are treated as beautiful unique human beings and on this special day, you absolutely have to be yourselves!
The beauty of a celebrant led ceremony is that you can throw away the rule book if you want. If you want a ceremony that looks like a ‘traditional ceremony, we can do that, but we can also do so much more!

I love meeting couples, hearing their stories and listening to their visions, and with a beautiful venue, we have so much to play with.”

Bohemian Macramé Weddings from Claire at Hooked IN Cotton

I only REALLY love a few things – family and memories! It’s all that really counts! I love my family. I love my time with them making memories.

I love simple. I love quality. I love creating unique gifts that stand the test of time! I love macramé and crochet – creating brings me joy and calm!

I love hearing stories you share with your friends or family in workshops. I love hearing from you years later – walking through a room on a busy day and your wall hanging makes you STOP and remember how you felt standing under it as your arbor saying ‘I do’!

We all have memories! Make more everyday! Choose a unique, handcrafted gift from my collection today to make yours with!

Proudly made in Wales. [I do dream of creating all day long on an exotic beach somewhere – no actually, on West Beach, Adelaide! And sometimes that is just what I do!]

In joy and love – Claire x
